Jay Park appeared on KBS 2TV's 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook' on November 6 and talked about the growing mass appeal of hip hop in South Korea these days, relaying some disappointment in the changes.
When asked why hip hop has suddenly become so popular, Jay Park replied, "I think it's because the genre is a bit refreshing for the public. There's no limit to the lyrics or the form, so there's this freeness that I think they like."

Yoo Hee Yeol queried, "Then are there some aspects you feel are a shame since hip hop became popular?" Jay Park answered, "It's become a bit predictable. Idols coming out to do hip hop to show their talent and criticize their own company used to be refreshing, but now, everyone does it. Also, when dissing first became a thing, it would top the searches, but now, there have become more people who diss in order to top the searches, which is a shame."
Regarding his latest album, he stated, "I wanted to personally try out something. I want to try everything within hip hop that I could do. For the development of hip hop, I want to appeal to the public's view of hip hop."
