On the November 30 episode of 'Healing Camp,' rising actor Kim Kwang Gyu got a little personal, detailing his less-than-perfect childhood and his dating style.
The actor revealed that he was embarrassed of his own father who had worked as a cart driver for a bakery after he voluntarily retired. He recalled, "If I was more mature, I would have helped him push the cart," tears welling in his eyes.
Kim Kwang Gyu also confessed that he had an estranged relationship with his father. He explained, "When he would get drunk, my father would argue with my mother everyday," talking about his rough adolescence which he spent restraining his father's temper tantrums.

He continued, "Before my father passed away in 2007, I asked him, 'Why did you only hit me?' He had replied, 'Because I cared.' I cried a lot on the inside at his words," revealing how he missed his father despite the strained relationship he shared with him.
Moving away from the somber, heavy topic of his past, Kim Kwang Gyu also discussed his dating style, disclosing that he is the type to wait for the woman to take notice and approach him first. MC Seo Jang Hoon asked him, "Is there a woman who is in your heart right now?" to which Kim Kwang Gyu honestly responded, "Yes. There is."
When the MCs then questioned why he hasn't confessed his feelings yet, Kim Kwang Gyu answered, "Because there were many times I've confessed and things didn't work out."
