On October 15, SBS's '8 O'Clock News' reported that 'A', a woman in her 40's was sexually assaulted by 'B', a man in his 30's while she was lying partially sedated in the recovery room of a general hospital in Gyeonggi Province.
'A' hadn't fully awoken from her anesthesia and was resting up after receiving an endoscopy when 'B' allegedly drew back the curtains to her bed and touched the private areas of her body.
'B' was caught red-handed in his misdeed by 'A's guardian and a nurse who heard 'A' screaming. 'B' turned out to be a patient who had received an examination prior to 'A' and was in the same ward as her.
Reps from the hospital stated, "'B' was admitted the day before; he was in an extremely intoxicated state." After investigations by the police, 'B' denied the sexual assault charges. He claimed that he did approach 'A' but didn't touch her.
Meanwhile, police have booked 'B' without detention on suspicions of sexual assault. The National Forensic Service have requested to analyze 'A's DNA and the DNA that was found on 'B's hand.
