Hospital employee who beat female co-worker let off the hook

Buzz
A ridiculous situation arose in which a perpetrator of a crime was let off the hook while the victim suffered the injustice in silence.

According to an October 7 exclusive report by SBS8 News, a male employee identified as Kim was expelled from Gachon University's Gil Hospital for battery against a female co-worker back in February. However, it was revealed that he has since been reinstated to his position as if nothing happened. At the time of the battery, Kim indiscriminately beat a female worker for not being able to properly treat the patients. When the problem blew up, the hospital had convened a disciplinary committee and dismissed Kim; however, he is currently back working at the hospital.

When Kim initiated suit to preserve his position, the hospital failed to countersue, resulting in Kim automatically winning the case.

The female doctor, who was the victim of this incident, said, "It's ridiculous that I'm on call to work with someone [who was physically violent with me]. When I was being abused early in the morning, no one helped me; we've just gone back to the starting point," and submitted her resignation letter.

When investigations into the matter began again, Gil Hospital requested for the nullification of Kim's dismissal litigation at court and released a statement saying, "We are reviewing whether we should discipline Kim again."

After resigning, the victim had been working at various private hospitals and is currently said to be unemployed.
