Another heartwarming story is headed your way! This will be another tale of restoring your faith in humanity.
According to an exclusive report by JTBC on July 9, back on July 3 at around 6:40 PM at a crossroad in Changwon, Gyeongnam, a driver of a white car failed to regard the traffic signs and hit a large truck. The car lost balance and struck a female student standing on the sidewalk, dragging her like this for 40 m (~ 44 yards / 131 feet).
At this time, about 20 citizens who had been witnessing this, including people who stopped in the streets and people who vacated their stores, ran over there without any sign of hesitation to lift the 1.5 ton car off, drag Miss Noh out, and save her life. This all happened within one minute of the accident occurring. You can see in the video above the swarm of people gathered around to lift the car. You can see that the driver remains seated in the car as it's lifted by the helpers. You can then see that the girl is lying on the street, clearly in pain, as police cars come to take over.
One of the rescuers, a Mr. Sung, relayed, "Rather than thinking 'Let's help her' or 'What should we do?' [I thought] of course I had to go in [to help] when there was a person pinned under."
Miss Noh, whose life had been saved by the quick action of these citizens, is in the midst of receiving treatment for the fracture of her hipbone and other serious injuries. Feel better soon and a standing ovation for all of those who helped her!
