Sexy diva Chaeyeon has just made her comeback after a long hiatus with "Video, Even If I Don't See" and talked about making her comeback as a solo artist among the rush of girl group comebacks as well as her love for her hoobaes!
On June 25, in Mapo in Seoul, Chaeyeon sat down with OSEN to talk about her comeback. When asked what distinguishes her from all of the girl groups promoting around the same time as her, Chaeyeon modestly replied, "When I was preparing for my album, I monitored a lot. There are so many idols, and I wondered, 'Will I be able to survive in this space? Will I be able to show people that I am Chaeyeon?"
She added, "What I'm worried most about is that people will see a stage with many performers dancing (like an idol group), and then see just one performer dancing and feel like the stage is empty. I feel that way, so I worry that others will feel the same way. Should I not even try? That's how I thought."
But she was positive as she said, "My conclusion was this. Let's do this the way I did in the beginning. Let's not do something unconventional, nor expose too much, but show the Chaeyeon that I was before." It's a good thing she decided to do that, because we love her new concept!
When asked which hoobaes she has been noticing, she none other than SISTAR and AOA!
Chaeyeon said, "I see so many pretty people [in the industry]. And they're young. I would say I enjoy listening to the songs from AOA and SISTAR, who are having a comeback around the same time as me. I'm also having fun following their choreography. So I'm looking at them in a really good light. I've been watching pretty much all girl groups and I like them all. It's because I tend to like pretty girls."
