A couple's wedding photo shows the dark reality of Korea's MERS situation

An ominous yet telling photo from a wedding ceremony in Korea has gone viral on Facebook and the online community, and is even receiving attention in international media.

This past June 6, Echo Wedding Company's 'Sewing for the Soil' uploaded a picture on its official Facebook page with a caption that read, "A wedding ceremony in Seongbuk District trumped the dangers of MERS with kindness and communication." The picture supposedly shows a joyous scene with the bride in a bright white dress, the groom in a tuxedo and the guests encircling the couple. There is one just one odd bit that the viewer can't help but notice in the picture: everyone's faces--the bride and groom included--are veiled behind white surgical face masks. It appears that the concerned couple had distributed the masks due to the nation being shaken up by the MERS virus.

Amid the scare of the MERS spread, the unconventional wedding photo had some netizens remark with, "Hilarious," even though the situation isn't one to cause any sort of laughter.
