It was previously reported that a girl group member was at the scene of a DUI incident caused by her boyfriend, but police have now stepped up to rectify misreports.
As a refresher, the incident occurred back on March 21 when a 200 million won (approx. $180,000 USD) Audi R8 crashed into a taxi, pushed it forward, and started a chain reaction of rear-end collisions in the Gangnam District of Seoul. A total of five cars got involved in the accident and 10 people were injured.
A rep from the police told SBS's 'Morning Wide' in an interview, "It is a false report. She was not in a girl group. The passenger must have looked a bit pretty, so somebody mentioned a girl group and it became an incorrect report. She is not in a girl group, a celebrity, or anything. She's an ordinary citizen."

Meanwhile, the passenger's name was revealed to start with a 'J', which got speculations rising about SPICA's Jiwon. As the controversy grew, her agency B2M Entertainment stepped up to say everything was untrue. Jiwon said, "After looking at the article, they ultimately took my picture and used it with a mosaic over it as the passenger in the DUI. My blurry picture in the content regarding a girl group member with the initial 'J'. It's not me, so do not misunderstand or worry! I hope that the injuries of the people involved in the accident are not too severe."
The agency rep stated, "If you catch a glimpse of the video, it could look like Jiwon, but that is not the case at all. The world is so scary these days, so why would we say it isn't if it is true?"
