It's embarrassing when you mix up your words, even more so when you're on live broadcast. On January 23, an SBS sportscaster Lee Jae Hyung caught his Korean viewers by surprise when he accidentally called Japanese football player Shibasaki Gaku, "shiba(l)seki," or "bastard." The slip-up occurs at the 0:06 mark in the video above.
Oops.
With over 700,000 views, this hilarious video is gaining interest as netizens laugh off the mistake. The majority point out that due to the similarity between "shibalseki," a common Korean swear word, and "Shibasaki," a name with which Koreans are unfamiliar, Lee Jae Hyung's slip was an easy one to make.
The incident occurred during the Japan vs. United Arab Emirates (UAE) match which took place in Australia on January 23. It was a quarter-final match for the Asian Cup 2015. In the end, UAE won, scoring a five to Japan's four in the penalty shootout. Meanwhile, South Korea and Australia will face off in the finals of the Asian Cup on January 31.
