It has been previously revealed that although a promissory note (IOU) was issued to the construction companies in order to receive a loan, the promissory note clearly indicated that the hotel had not borrowed from the construction companies, clearing Junsu's name.
Since then, Junsu's lawyer revealed that the promissory note was only issued at the request of the construction companies for record and that Junsu was not liable in paying back the construction companies.
The lawyer stated, "In order to receive a loan or construction funding from the financial company, you have to go through the construction company's financial account. In that process, the construction company asked for a promissory note for their personal financial documentation. No money was actually borrowed [in that process]."

Junsu's lawyer also pointed out that the promissory note clearly negated Junsu's obligation to pay back the construction companies. In the actual promissory note, it stated on the bottom, "I acknowledge that the promissory note is for the use of the bank or company's financial documentation and is not an actual amount to be reimbursed."
The lawyer also criticized the construction companies for using Junsu's status as a Hallyu idol in order for their personal gains. The lawyer stated, "The fact that they filed a lawsuit means that they were trying to harm Junsu's Hallyu star reputation and gain profit from doing so. Through police investigations, it will be revealed that what the construction companies are stating are forced."
