Hip hop duo Leessang's Gary and solo artist Mad Clown both expressed their dissatisfaction to the Korea Music Copyright Association regarding their royalties.
On January 23, Gary posted on his Twitter, "People who do music, how did your royalties come in? Since last year, almost the same amount of royalties is getting deposited [as payment]. For now, be strong, musicians."
Leessang's agency revealed, "The royalty calculations are not being done properly. The royalties for a month when a product was released and a month when it wasn't released are the same, which we do not understand nor is there a proper explanation."

Mad Clown relayed the same concerns through his SNS: "Why is there not much of a notification about the amount missing from the royalties last month? When there's a lot of musicians who live off royalties like I do... Were the calculations done properly this month, what's going on..."
As their colleague artists are re-tweeting their messages, the concern is beginning to spread like wildfire. Hopefully, everything gets properly sorted out soon!
