Her husband Oh Seung Geun talked about the actress on MBC's 'Human Documentary', and he revealed, "Last year in September, she left to film 'Noonas Over Flowers' during her radiation therapy. She had promised to appear on the show 2 months beforehand, but her radiation therapy was decided upon a month before the trip. She thought a lot about it because if she said she could not keep her promise from 2 months ago, a lot of schedules would be messed up."

He said, "She asked me, 'I have to go to 'Noonas Over Flowers' because I promised, but I also have to get treatment. What should I do?', so I answered, 'Even if you get cursed out, your health is more important, so let's push the broadcast back'. But in the end, she said she had to keep her promise and decided to go film the show."
The veteran actress (who debuted in 1970), was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2008 and got surgery right away. She had successful surgery, but her cancer recently spread to her lungs and she had been hospitalized. She passed away last month on the 16th and her wake was on November 19th.
