Man in his 20s dies in unfortunate car accident with his four friends prior to army enlistment

Netizens are expressing their shock over an unfortunate car accident which occurred yesterday. On the morning of October 28 around 8AM KST, five friends in their 20s passed away after crashing into a 4.5 ton truck.

According to the Jeonbuk Provincial Police Agency and Korea Expressway Corporation, the five were driving on the Honam Expressway in a rented Hyundai Elantra. As one of these five, a Mr. Kim, was about to enlist into the army, it was reported that the other four were in the process of sending him off. However, after passing by a road lane blocked by construction, the driver attempted to pull over back into the shoulder and ran into a truck. The clash resulted in the death of the driver and all the passengers. A news clip of the incident is available above.
