Wellmade StarM acquires DreamT Entertainment

Going along with the trend of merges and acquisitions among entertainment agencies, it has been announced that Wellmade StarM has bought out DreamT Entertainment!

According to Wellmade StarM, which is home to popular names like Lee Jong SukOh Yeon Seo, and more, the company has bought 100% of the shares of DreamT Entertainment, home to names like Girl's Day, worth 1.1 billion KRW (~$1.04 million USD) in an effort to expand its business from being just a management company of actor and artists into a business that creates content as well. Wellmade has also co-invested in the launch of a new company called 'In The Street' with Shinsadong Tiger.


In addition, it has also been revealed that Wellmade bought out 100% of the shares of production agency, 'Show21'.


A Wellmade StarM rep stated, "If promoting artists was the primary goal of entertainment agencies up until now, from now on, not only artists but producing and selling content should be the new direction of entertainment."
