Korean movie ticket site, Max Movie is currently holding a survey asking participants to chose the woman who they think is most befitting of the title, 2012's 'Iron Lady' of South Korea.
'Iron Lady' is a term that has been mainly used to describe female heads of government or 'strong willed' females. This iron metaphor is most widely applied to Margaret Thatcher who was the first female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. She was well known for her strict and conservative policies. Her strong opposition to the Soviet Union is an example of her charismatic and fearless character. There was even a movie about her called ironically enough, "The Iron Lady" released back in mid January.
Max Movie conducted the survey starting on the 7th asking participants, "Who do you think will be the 'Iron Lady' of South Korea in 2012?" The survey was sub-divided into several segments including Artist, Sports, Politics, Author, Actress, Movie Director, Anchor woman, Comedian, Model, and Cook.
Under the Artist portion, Lee Hyori is currently leading the group with 51% of the total votes while globally renowned skater, Kim Yuna has a firm grip on her group with an astounding 74% of the total votes! Actress Go Hyun Jung is also doing well with 52%, beating the likes of Ha Ji Won and Yoon Yeo Jung.
If you are interested in voting in this event before it ends, you may do so by visiting here. However, you will be asked to create a Max Movie login account which requires a Korean Social Security number or Alien Registration card.
