'Punch' is based on a novel which revolves around a poor and rebellious boy named, Wan Deugi who meets an oddball teacher(Dong Joo). Wandeugi has been raised under an unusual family as his father is diagnosed with kyphosis (hunchback spine curvature) condition. His long-lost Filipino mother also appears in his life, out of the blue. Regardless of the situation, Wandeugi cares much about his family as he does to his homeroom teacher, Dong Joo who soon becomes an inseparable friend. 'Punch' is categorized under the coming-of-age genre and is a perfect family drama as it deals with many issues such as: generation gap, education, disability, and multiculturalism.
