Super Junior’s Sungmin has unveiled his new album 'UNLIMIT', alongside the release of the music video for its title track “Godsaeng.”
“Godsaeng” is particularly meaningful as Sungmin took part in both writing and composing the song himself. The track reflects his personal journey of repeatedly standing back up like a roly-poly toy after colliding with the harsh walls of reality. Drawing from the passion and discipline he has steadily built since restarting his career through trot music, the song serves as what can be described as Sungmin’s own declaration of “living a god-tier life.”
This comeback carries deeper significance as it represents more than a simple change. It marks Sungmin’s return to the center of the stage after enduring over a decade of ups and downs. Following his marriage announcement, he stepped away from activities amid persistent rumors and malicious comments. In a recent variety show appearance, Sungmin candidly shared through tears, “Singing is the only thing I know how to do, and I was terrified that I no longer had a place to stand.”
Determined to begin again, he challenged himself with trot, a genre new to him, and even spent four years relearning music fundamentals from scratch under a composer—approaching his career once more with the mindset of a rookie.
Now a father, welcoming his son ten years after marriage, Sungmin plans to pour both his sense of responsibility toward his family and his longing for the stage into 'UNLIMIT'. The album captures his resolve to move forward, embracing both personal growth and artistic rebirth.
