South Korean band KAVE released their second EP, 'Say My Name,' on November 11, 2024, with two contrasting title tracks, the pop rock song "You" and the hard rock song "Stone," showcasing the mini-album’s musical diversity.
'Say My Name' serves as a prequel to KAVE's debut EP, 'Flight of Ideas,' telling the story of the band's journey of self-discovery in reverse. This narrative direction aims to reveal the mysteries hinted at in their first release.
The main title track, "You," is a pop rock song that samples "Winter" from The Four Seasons by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi. Using the imagery of winter, "You" emphasizes the coldness and isolation of certain emotions, exploring themes of recovery, disconnection, and lingering regrets in relationships — a universally relatable story about a breakup.
KAVE, both a band and a producer crew, is led by singer-songwriter Gaho (vocal) and includes members Kekinu (drums), Jisang (guitar), Hyun (piano, keyboard), and Ownr (keyboard, DJ). Each member is also a songwriter, composer, arranger, and producer, contributing to their reputation for solid musical and instrumental skills.
