On November 13 KST, girl group NewJeans forwarded a certified letter to their agency, ADOR, requesting that the agency promptly address its multiple failures to fulfill the duties outlined by their exclusive contract.
A day later, Channel A has obtained a copy of the legal notice sent by NewJeans to CEO Kim Joo Young of ADOR. Below is a summary of the requests made by the NewJeans members in the letter, claiming that many of these issues are violations of the artist-management exclusive contract.
- We request that as the agency responsible for the management of NewJeans, ADOR take appropriate measures to address HYBE's internal decision to "dispose of NewJeans and create a new playing field."
- We request that measures be taken against the manager of a subsidiary label who ordered their artist to "ignore" Hanni.
- We request that measures be taken to correct the HYBE PR team's attempts to undervalue the achievements of NewJeans.
- We request the monitoring and removal of unofficial photos, videos, and other content involving the NewJeans members during their trainee days and as minors.
- We request that ADOR address the devaluation of NewJeans' achievements caused by the controversy surrounding HYBE's 'advanced purchase' tactics.
- We request the prompt resolution of any unnecessary disputes with director Shin Woo Seok of Dolphiners Films and the prevention of any official NewJeans content from removal on approved channels.
Finally, the NewJeans members stated that they have "already lost much faith in ADOR", and that should the agency fail to all of the requests made above within 14-days of the letter's receipt, they would seek to terminate their exclusive contracts.
