'Superstar K' star Do Dae Yoon said he was involuntarily committed to a psych ward for bipolar.
On September 8th, Do Dae Yoon made a guest appearance on a YouTube channel that interviews celebrities who have been staying out of the limelight for years. Back in 2011, Do Dae Yoon and Kim Ye Rim(Lim Kim) blew up through a show called 'Superstar K.' In March 2012, Do Dae Yoon said he was committed to a psych ward for two months. He said he had to take five different pills under the supervision of nurses. "It made me sleep well. I felt like they were treating me through sleeping." He recalled that his bipolar symptoms started right after 'Superstar K,' when he was embroiled in multiple controversies.
Do Dae Yoon said after two months in the hospital, he gained almost 20 kg and went from 62kg to 85kg. He commented that he couldn't make a comeback with Kim Ye Rim then, so he went back to the States. "I still go to a psychiatrist once a month but I'm doing much better now. I learned much more about my illness, as well as myself. I ultimately want to help people like me, whether it's going to be some sort of platform or something in person."
