K-Pop dance practice videos have become a popular brand and content in their own right these days. But back in the days, K-Pop dance practice videos were not made public!
It's believed that the first ever K-Pop group dance practice video was leaked online in early 2000 by avid fans. What group and what song?
Shinhwa's "Only One", released in 2000 as the title track from the 1st-generation idol group's 3rd album!
Unlike many of the dance practice videos uploaded these days, which are filmed for the purpose of being made public, you can tell that this version of Shinhwa's "Only One" is truly a "practice video" filmed by the members for the sake of practice. It's believed that the song that is being used is an incomplete version of "Only One", mostly with demo vocals by Yoo Young Jin. Notably, the choreography is also incomplete in the video, and the Shinhwa members are seen being goofy and playful as the song progresses toward its latter half.
Watch it above to see how much K-Pop dance practice videos have change over the years!
The legends! I was so in love with Dongwan back in the day. Love my first generation K-Pop. 🤗❤️
