Mnet is ready to bring on the drama once again with the return of its idol debut survival series, which began with the popular 'Produce' series and then took on the new name 'Girls Planet 999' in 2021.
In 2023, a male counterpart to 'Girls Planet' begins on February 2 at 8 PM KST, 'Boys Planet'. A total of 93 contestants, divided into the 'K-Group' (trainees from South Korea) and the 'G-Group' (trainees from around the globe) will compete for a chance to debut in a global K-Pop group, surviving rigorous missions and challenges, receiving systematic training from some of the best in the industry, and evolving from trainees to true artists.
In the teaser for the first episode above, the first encounter between members of the 'K-Group' and the 'G-Group' initially results in the overwhelming victory of the 'K-Group' in terms of skill and artistry. However, members of the 'G-Group' are determined to fight back and show their own, unique styles with their own, colorful performances.
At the end of the teaser, one of the most anticipated contestants of the program makes his appearance, Pentagon's Hui. The idol reveals, "I wanted to hear people say, 'Oh, he's good'. I have lived on the stage for 10 years, craving to hear those words."
Will you be tuning into Mnet's brand new idol debut survival, 'Boys Planet'?
I know those survival shows are trashy and rigged but I still watch them. They are my guilty pleasure.
