On May 14, Lee Young Ji appeared as a guest on KBS2's 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook' to remind viewers about her musical side, after her recent variety activities!
For this guest appearance, Lee Young Ji brought out some of her bests including "I Am Lee Young Ji" and "Compromise".
During her interview portion, MC Yoo Hee Yeol asked, "How can you amplify your voice so well?" Lee Young Ji replied, "Right. I'm the type to bring out the sound from deep in my belly. You know how there are kids in school who are in charge of regulating the lines at the lunchroom. I was one of them. I mastered how to project loudly from the top of my head, going, 'Line up! Go to the back!'."
The MC then followed up with, "So was your voice always this husky?"
According to Lee Young Ji, "No, actually when I was younger, my voice was chirpy like a bird. It was on the same note as Ariana Grande. I could sing that note back then. But I yelled a lot when I was younger, and my voice would go out pretty often. But even when my voice went hoarse, I just wanted to keep talking. So I never gave my vocal cords time to rest, I just kept running my mouth even when I couldn't speak. I just kept repeating that cycle until I went from Ariana Grande to now."
