Social idol group flor_us released the music video for the second title track of their debut album 'Flor_u(s)chool'! Every song on this album revolves around the theme school violence, but from different perspectives. The other title track, 'Masquerade', looks at issue from the perpetrator's perspective, who want to take of their mask and reflect on what they have done. 'Voice' focusses on the story of a bystander, and it should be noted the music video for this song is based on the independent film 'BYSTANDER', produced by Giheung Highschool students. The last song, 'Daydream', depicts the victim and wants to give them back their hopefulness. 'Daydream' also has a sign language version of the song, so even people who can't hear can understand their message.
Every album of flor_us will revolve around one social issue. The group picked school violence as their first, since all of the girls have had to deal with school violence, either as a bystander or as a direct victim.
The group is signed to social entreprise YEOM Entertainment. YEOM rejects the idea of manufacturing idols and for that reason, only one of the girls has been training to be an idol since her childhood. The others seem to have focused on their school life before enetering the idol scene. One of the members has experience working in a veterinary clinic and another one majored in social welfare and psychology.
Hunh!
Now THIS I find VERY interesting -
"YEOM rejects the idea of manufacturing idols and for that reason, only one of the girls has been training to be an idol since her childhood. The others seem to have focused on their school life before entering the idol scene."
Time will tell if they'll have a chance in the overcrowded K-pop field, but this is a refreshing concept and I wish them the best!
