On the January 27 episode of the MBC variety competition 'Mask King,' a boy group main vocalist who appeared as a contestant on the show was forced to reveal his identity after taking another stab at the crown.
After making it through to the third round, he finally went head to head with 'Widow' as 'Metal Boy,' dressed in a denim rocker look with an 80's rocker wig and a skull mask. His performance of Park Hyo Shin's "Beautiful Tomorrow" won him several compliments; however, he was unable to beat 'Widow' and was forced to unmask.
The panel and audience was surprised to find that 'Metal Boy' was none other than VIXX's Ken, whom competed on the program two and a half year prior.
When asked his reason for coming back, Ken explained that he wanted to be able to move the public, his fans, and the panelists with how much he has changed as a singer.
"I wanted to become the Mask King because no male idol has become one so far," he explained. "It is really a shame [that I wasn't able to], but having been able to challenge myself with new and difficult songs was meaningful in itself."
