Fu Bao, the beloved panda who captured the hearts of Koreans during her time at Everland Zoo, is sparking concerns and outrage among Korean netizens after photos of the panda in China surfaced online.
One netizen recently shared pictures of Fu Bao on an online community, where others quickly noticed that the panda appeared to be in poor condition. These netizens pointed out that Fu Bao's fur seemed unkept with what seemed like scratches on the panda's face.
Fu Bao, the first naturally born giant panda in South Korea, was born on July 20, 2020, at the Everland theme park. She is the offspring of Ai Bao and Le Bao, a panda pair loaned from China. Following international agreements regarding panda conservation, Fu Bao was relocated to China in April 2024. Fu Bao's South Korean fans are voicing concerns about her health and expressing hopes for her return to Korea.
