Infamous sex offender and convicted serial killer Cho Doo Soon has allegedly been spotted at a local supermarket.

On January 1 KST, an anonymous netizen 'A' shared a photo with the claim that they just witnessed Cho Doo Soon wandering across their local market. Based on the photo, the man was wearing a hat and a mask similar to the ones he was spotted wearing when returning home from prison. According to 'A', when they asked him if he was Cho Doo Soon, the man did not answer and instead glared back "with a fierce gaze".

Although it was never confirmed whether the man was indeed Cho Doo Soon, netizens are suspecting that it really was him, based on his hairstyle. One netizen commented, "If I were that person, then I wouldn't have been able to recognize him because of that mask. But that's even scarier."

Others also reacted with hostility, leaving comments such as, "Where is he going? I feel so anxious", "I can't believe an ex-criminal with such a serious offense is going around town like that".

It was later revealed that Cho Doo Soon recently left the house for the first time since his release from prison back in December. According to the police, he left his home during the permitted hours (between 6 AM and 9 PM) after Christmas. In light of the online post, the security in charge of Cho has taken tighter measures to keep him under their watch, having him to return from the groceries within 20-30 minutes.
