Girl group I.O.I has officially begun the countdown to their long-awaited reunion.
I.O.I—Jeon So Mi, Kim Se Jeong, Choi Yoo Jung, Kim Chung Ha, Kim So Hye, Zhou Jieqiong, Jung Chae Yeon, Kim Do Yeon, Kang Mi Na, Lim Na Young, and Yoo Yeon Jung—was an 11-member project group formed through Mnet’s 'Produce 101'. The group debuted in May 2016 and concluded its activities in January 2017.
Although their promotions lasted just about a year, the members have come together to prepare a full-group comeback in celebration of their upcoming 10th debut anniversary next year. However, Kang Mi Na will not be participating in the reunion activities due to scheduling conflicts with an upcoming drama shoot and its subsequent promotional period.
Details surrounding a concert have also been partially revealed. During the December 22 broadcast of KBS Cool FM’s 'Oh My Girl Hyojung’s Volume Up', Yoo Yeon Jung responded to a listener who asked, “I keep hearing that I.O.I is reuniting, so my heart is racing. Will it be early, mid, or late 2026? Please give us a spoiler.”
Yoo Yeon Jung said, “We actually wanted to secretly prepare everything and then surprise everyone, but our youngest member Jeon Somi has already shared quite a bit, so many fans already know. So I’ll just say it openly,” adding, “Yes, we are getting together. I can’t share all the details, but the concert venue has already been booked.”
She continued, “If I had to choose between early, mid, or late, it would be early to mid. You can think of it around spring, when we first debuted. Since it’s our meaningful 10th anniversary, we decided not to take it lightly and are preparing very seriously, so please look forward to it.”
