Actor Ahn Sung Ki was rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest on December 30 and is currently reported to be in critical condition, according to reports on December 31 KST.
According to reports, Ahn collapsed at his home at around 4 p.m. the previous day after choking while eating. He was transported to a nearby hospital’s emergency room while receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Ahn is currently hospitalized in the intensive care unit, and his condition is said to be critical.
Ahn Sung Ki, often referred to as Korea’s “national actor,” made his debut in 1957 with director Kim Ki Young’s film ‘Twilight Train’. Over the past six decades, he has appeared in approximately 200 films. In recent years, he has been undergoing treatment for blood cancer.
