Although comedian Park Na Rae stated that she met with her former managers and cleared up misunderstandings, the managers have denied this, saying her account is untrue.
On December 9th KST, a media outlet reported that the former managers insisted they had never resolved any misunderstandings with Park Na Rae. While they confirmed that they spoke with her for about three hours, they claimed, “We did not receive an apology, and there was no agreement of any kind between us.”
According to the managers, when they expressed, “We’ve endured a lot for a month and can’t continue anymore,” Park Na Rae’s side responded by saying, “Then let’s proceed with a lawsuit.”
Regarding Park Na Rae’s statement claiming they had resolved misunderstandings, the managers said they were stunned:
“Seeing her say that our misunderstandings were resolved left us speechless. It felt like she met us just to prepare her statement. It seems like an attempt to buy time and sway public opinion.”
The dispute between Park Na Rae and her former managers is now expected to be settled through legal proceedings. Previously, on the 3rd, the former managers filed for a provisional attachment of Park Na Rae’s property with the Seoul Western District Court, claiming they had suffered workplace bullying, including special assault, sexual harassment, and verbal abuse.
The managers also filed a criminal complaint with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, accusing Park Na Rae of special assault, defamation by spreading false information, and violation of the Information and Communications Network Act. They have additionally signaled plans to file a damages lawsuit amounting to roughly 100 million KRW (68,000 USD).
Meanwhile, Park Na Rae’s side has filed a countersuit, accusing the former managers of extortion. They stated, “After we paid their severance, they demanded 10% of last year’s revenue. When we refused, they continued adding new allegations.”
