
Kep1er is set to perform in mainland China next month, drawing attention as it may symbolize a potential easing of the "Hallyu ban".
According to sources on August 20, Kep1er will hold a solo concert on September 13 at the Fujian Hall in Gulou District, Fuzhou, Fujian Province, a venue with a capacity of 1,500 seats. The event will be titled 'Fan Con Tour in Fuzhou' and presented in the format of a fan meeting.
Formed through the 2021 survival show 'Girls Planet 999: The Girls Saga', Kep1er is a seven-member group that includes Chinese member Xiaoting. The group made their comeback on August 19with the release of their new track "Bubble Gum".
On August 16, they were the only K-pop girl group invited as award presenters at the 'Weibo Cultural Exchange Night 2025' in Bangkok, Thailand, hosted by Chinese social media platform Weibo.
In addition, rapper Kid Milli, known from 'High School Rapper 3' and 'Show Me the Money 777', is also reportedly preparing for a performance in Fuzhou on September 14.
With Chinese President Xi Jinping’s possible visit to South Korea being discussed in October for the upcoming APEC summit in Gyeongju, cautious analysis suggests that these events could indicate a shift toward easing the Hallyu ban.
