Lee Sang Min (age 51), singer and TV personality formerly of the group Roo'ra, is making headlines with the news of his remarriage after 20 years. His new wife is revealed to be a businesswoman 10 years his junior, and the couple reportedly dated for about three months before tying the knot.
According to a Star News report on May 2, Lee Sang Min and his wife began a serious relationship earlier this year and decided to get married after three months of dating. Despite the short courtship, the couple built a strong foundation of trust and deepened their feelings for each other.
His new spouse, born in 1983, is a non-celebrity entrepreneur. Lee Sang Min reportedly told close acquaintances that they first met at a business meeting.
The couple officially registered their marriage at a district office in Seoul on April 30, becoming legally married. They have decided not to hold a wedding ceremony. A representative for Lee Sang Min confirmed to Star News, “They’ve chosen to skip a formal ceremony,” but added that the couple plans to have a small celebration later with family and friends.
Their marriage registration process is scheduled to be aired on the May 11 episode of the SBS variety show 'My Little Old Boy.' Lee Sang Min has been a regular cast member on the show since 2017, earning recognition for his frugal lifestyle.
He is also currently appearing on SBS’s 'Dolsing Fourmen' alongside fellow divorced entertainers Tak Jae Hoon, Im Won Hee, and Kim Jun Ho. SBS has yet to comment on how his recent marriage will affect his future on the show.
Lee Sang Min was previously married to singer and entertainer Lee Hye Young in 2004, but the couple divorced the following year. His remarriage, 20 years later, was first announced via his personal social media on April 30.
In his post, Lee Sang Min wrote, “I’ve found someone I love deeply. I want to begin the second act of my life with her. She’s someone who made me feel like I want to protect her no matter what hardships come, and I truly believe we can live a happy life together.”
He added, “Because she is someone I found later in life and is so precious, I’ve been very cautious, which is why I delayed sharing the news. You may be surprised, but I’d be grateful if you could share in our joy and offer your blessings. I will continue to live with more responsibility to repay the support and encouragement I’ve received.”
