Broadcaster and former girl group member Lee Ji Hye has shared the reason behind her new venture into fashion.

On May 20th, Lee Ji Hye took time to respond to fan questions via her Instagram Stories. When one follower asked, “Why did you suddenly start selling clothes?” she replied with a photo of herself and former groupmate Jang Seok Hyun.
She explained, “This is Jang Seok Hyun, one of our original members from Shop. He works in the fashion industry and said he wanted to collaborate with me, so we decided to give it a try.” She added humorously, “If we can’t reunite as Shop, we’ll at least reunite through clothes.”
Lee Ji Hye went on to say, “Now that I’m married and trying to build a good life, I really need this to go well. I want both Seok Hyun and I to succeed—actually, I want everyone to do well. So please support us!”
Last year, she had previewed the idea by saying, “Seok Hyun and I are working on creating stylish, comfortable, and affordable clothes. The concept is something anyone—men or women, young or old—can wear.” She also mentioned at the time that if her followers weren’t enthusiastic, she’d be open to scrapping the project.
Lee Ji Hye debuted in 1998 as a member of the co-ed group Shop alongside Seo Ji Young, Chris, and Jang Seok Hyun. The group rose to fame with hits like “Sweetie”, “Tell Me Tell Me”, and “Like Warm Coffee on My Lips.” However, the group disbanded in 2002 amid reports of discord between Lee Ji Hye and Seo Ji Young. The two later reconciled during a broadcast six years after the breakup.
