‘Resident Playbook’ Set to Premiere on April 12th KST, unveils teaser & character posters.

tvN’s highly anticipated new weekend drama ‘Resident Playbook’ has officially confirmed its premiere for April 12th at 9:10 PM KST. Along with the announcement, character name badge posters and teaser videos have been released, building excitement for the show’s debut.

‘Resident Playbook’ follows first-year obstetrics and gynecology residents at Jongno Yulje Hospital as they navigate the struggles and growth of becoming skilled doctors. As a spin-off of the hit medical series ‘Hospital Playlist’, the drama features a fresh ensemble cast, including Go Yoon Jung (Oh Yi Young), Shin Si A (Pyo Nam Kyung), Kang Yoo Seok (Eom Jae Il), Han Ye Ji (Kim Sa Bi), and Jung Joon Won (Goo Do Won).

The teaser video opens with a nostalgic glimpse of the ‘Hospital Playlist’ five-member squad before transitioning to the Jongno Yulje Hospital OB/GYN department. It introduces the nervous yet determined first-year residents, capturing the chaotic and unpredictable nature of their daily routines. A particularly amusing scene shows a professor (played by Lee Hyun Kyun) calling out for Oh Yi Young, while the residents anxiously avoid eye contact, and Yi Young herself hides behind a door, adding humor to the mix.

Another teaser, titled “Chaotic Days”, highlights the intense reality of residency—showing the four main residents barely having time to take a bite of a hamburger before being urgently called into action. The clip perfectly encapsulates their unpredictable and demanding days, leaving viewers eager to witness their growth.

Following the teaser release, fans flooded online communities with enthusiastic reactions, commenting:

“I’ve been waiting for this drama!”

“So great to see Yulje Hospital again!”

“The perfect chaotic energy of residency life!”

“As a young professional, I can already relate to this storyline!”

“Let’s expand the universe even more!”

Given the ongoing medical crisis in South Korea, the spotlight on ‘Resident Playbook’ is growing even brighter. The recent success of Netflix’s 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on call', which blended medical drama with gripping storytelling, demonstrated the audience’s appetite for hospital-based series. Now, with ‘Resident Playbook’, viewers can expect another heartfelt and realistic portrayal of aspiring doctors striving to make a difference.

tvN’s ‘Resident Playbook’ premieres on April 12th at 9:10 PM KST, bringing a fresh chapter to the ‘Hospital Playlist’ universe.
