EXO’s Xiumin has been chosen as the cover model for the April issue of AtStyle. The pictorial, featuring dynamic visuals created using a beam projector, highlights his professional poses and expressions, reaffirming his status as a “born-to-be idol.”.
Recently, Xiumin made a solo comeback after two years and six months, unveiling his new album ‘Interview X’. He shared, “Since this is my first solo album under my new company, I put a lot of effort into it. I spent a year personally working on every detail to enhance its quality.”
Ahead of his solo return, Xiumin reunited with Chen and Baekhyun for a fan meeting in Japan this past February, performing as the unit CBX. Reflecting on their teamwork, he noted, “The members have improved so much. Even though our practice time was short, our coordination was seamless.”
Having debuted 12 years ago—and counting his trainee days, 17 years in the industry—Xiumin expressed unwavering pride in his journey. “I’ve never once regretted choosing this career. I’m proud to be part of K-pop. If I could go back in time, I’d still choose to be an idol.”
Beyond music, Xiumin is also expanding his acting career. He will take on the lead role in the historical drama ‘Heo Sikdang’, marking his first full-fledged period drama challenge. “Since this is my first time delivering traditional historical speech tones, I worked hard to get them just right. I practiced a lot to portray the refined tone of a nobleman.”
Regarding his on-screen romantic chemistry with EXY, Xiumin shared, “She’s a dedicated actress and very considerate. We had great synergy, and the director helped create a relaxed atmosphere, allowing for a lot of improvisation.”
Xiumin also revealed a glimpse into his personal life. Known as one of the biggest drinkers in K-pop, he shared, “I don’t usually go to private bars; I prefer casual spots like street food stalls or BBQ restaurants.”
