Viewers are discussing the ending of the drama 'When The Stars Gossip.'

On an online forum, netizens are reacting to the finale of Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin's tvN drama set in outer space. The drama concluded with the character Eve Kim giving birth to a male child in space and passing away. Gongryong stayed behind to protect the child named Byeol (meaning "star").

Park Dong Ah and Kang Tae Hee told Gongryong that he should leave, but he firmly stated, "I won't leave until I find a way to return together with Byeol."

As part of the drama's narration, Gongryong added, "I kissed Byeol's soles a hundred times in one day. I apologized over and over to the MCC people. To me, it was like hearing 'You die instead.' That day felt incredibly long. Eve did so much before leaving. The universe became both a grave and a womb." He concluded with, "Goodbye, Eve, until we meet again."

Viewers expressed confusion over the dialogue once again as the protagonist ended the drama with his final words, "The universe became both a grave and a womb." Amid ongoing controversy over the drama's dialogue, audiences voiced their general disappointment, especially given its high production budget and its devastating treatment of the main female character.

Some viewers stated, "Womb fixation is insane" and "Where did the 50 billion won production budget go?", questioning the drama's true purpose—whether it is 'pro-life' or a covert effort to boost birth rates in South Korea.

Many lambasted the drama as the "most failed K-drama in the history of South Korea."

Comments include:

"Seems super fixated on the sanctity of the womb."

"I can't believe they killed off the principal female character"

"Womb talk right to the end, lol."

"The actors who did that are amazing, lol."

"What's with the dialogue?"

"What on earth is this drama?"

"I mean, ultimately, all life comes from space and returns to space—that seems to be what they wanted to say. But did they really have to spend so much money doing it?"

"What was the writer thinking when writing this script... they say it took 5 years, ㅠㅠ"

"50 billion won is such a waste; what a legendary waste of money. They should have given every citizen 1,000 won instead."

"The biggest flop in the history of Korean dramas."

"Why in space? Childbirth is so dangerous."

"Gave birth in space and died? What kind of female lead treatment is this?"

What are your thoughts? Do you agree with these sentiments?
