NiziU releases first Japanese mini album ‘AWAKE’.

NiziU, under JYP Entertainment, has officially released their first Japanese mini album ‘AWAKE’ on February 5th KST.

The album, launched at midnight, marks NiziU’s first mini album since their official debut in Japan in December 2020. True to its title, meaning “to awaken”, ‘AWAKE’ embodies the group’s fresh determination and evolution, aiming to captivate listeners with a renewed sound. The title track "YOAKE" reflects the nine members’ journey of growth and independence as they step into a broader world.

The album features eight tracks, including the title song ‘YOAKE’, last February’s ‘Memories’, which was used in collaboration with Universal Studios Japan, and ‘SWEET NONFICTION’, the theme song for the 2024 Japanese romantic comedy film ‘Elsie in Love’. It also includes ‘AlwayS’, a ballad written and composed by Motoki Ohmori of Mrs. GREEN APPLE, ‘Buddy Buddy’, a song commemorating the 75th anniversary of Peanuts (ⓒ 2024 Peanuts Worldwide LLC), the rock-infused ‘Life is Beautiful’, and two unit tracks, ‘CRUSH’ and ‘Made of Love’.

Alongside the release of ‘AWAKE’, NiziU is set for an exciting year in 2025. Their first winter tour, ‘NiziU Live with U 2024-2025 “AWAKE”’, which kicked off last November, continues with concerts in Miyagi (February 8-9), Aichi (February 15-16), and Fukuoka (February 22-23).

Additionally, on February 20th, NiziU will appear as a special guest at J.Y. Park’s 30th debut anniversary concert ‘Still JYP’, held at Tokyo Dome City Hall.

Last month, NiziU teased fans with a video titled ‘NiziU “We need U 2025”’, hinting at new releases, collaborations, and their fourth live tour. With a packed schedule and strong global support, anticipation is high for their 2025 activities.
