YG Entertainment will officially close its acting management branch in order to focus on music.
On January 17 KST, the label stated, "We would like to sincerely thank the actors and actresses who worked with us throughout the years, as well as the fans for their love and support. We will be sure to provide our artists with the support that they need until the end."
With this, YG Entertainment will be bidding farewell to its full roster of actors/actresses, which include: Kim Hee Ae, Cha Seung Won, Jang Hyun Sung, Yoo In Na, Jung Hye Young, Yoo Seung Ho, Lee Sung Kyung, Jang Ki Yong, Lee Soo Hyuk, Kyung Soo Jin, Han Seungyeon, Son Na-Eun, Gal So Won, Park So Yi, and more.
Meanwhile, preparations for YG Entertainment to transition back into a music-focused agency began early last year, internalizing the musician training center YGX and expanding its in-house production team to 50. Additionally, it's believed that YGE has been preparing a major project in light of BLACKPINK's 2025 comeback and world tour in 2025. Artists such as BABYMONSTER and 2NE1 are also expected to expand their range of activities in 2025.
[UPDATE] YG Entertainment has since clarified that its roster of actors and actresses will continue to promote under YGE until the expiration of their respective contracts, but no renewals will be signed. Not all of the artists will leave YGE at the same time.
