JYP’s NiziU to release first Japanese mini-album ‘AWAKE’ on February 5th KST.
JYP Entertainment’s girl group NiziU is set to drop their first Japanese mini-album ‘AWAKE’ on February 5th, marking their first mini-album release since their debut in December 2020. Fans are eagerly anticipating this milestone.
Ahead of the album launch, NiziU pre-released the title track ‘YOAKE’ along with its music video on January 8th KST. The song reflects the group’s journey of “growth” and features a nostalgic melody. The music video showcases the members’ elegant choreography and heartfelt emotional acting, adding depth to the narrative.
NiziU had a stellar 2024, solidifying their position in the industry. In April, they won two awards at the ‘Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2024’ (ASEA 2024) in Yokohama, Japan. In September, they clinched the Artist of the Year award at the ‘2024 The Fact Music Awards’ (TMA) in Osaka. Additionally, their first Japanese EP, ‘RISE UP,’ topped the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking and Billboard Japan’s Top Album Sales chart in July.
For 2025, NiziU has unveiled a series of exciting plans. Through the ‘NiziU “We need U 2025”’ video released on January 6th, the group outlined various projects, including a new album, overseas activities, collaborations, their fourth live tour, special birthday content, a new reality show, and even a fresh logo reveal.
Meanwhile, NiziU is currently on their first winter tour, ‘NiziU Live with U 2024-2025 “AWAKE.”’ The tour spans 18 performances across 8 cities in Japan. Upcoming shows include Tokyo (January 8-12), Osaka (January 21-22), Miyagi (February 8-9), Aichi (February 15-16), and Fukuoka (February 22-23).
