Actor Lee Yi Kyung opened up about his acceptance speech, where he mentioned his ex-girlfriend Jung In Sun.
On the 20th, the YouTube channel 'Jjan-han hyung Shin Dong-yup' featured Lee Yi Kyung, Kwon Sang Woo, and Hwang Woo Seul Hye as guests to promote their film 'Hitman 2'.
During the show, Kwon Sang Woo jokingly said to Lee Yi Kyung, "Yesterday, when I saw you accept your award, you mentioned your ex-girlfriend. I thought you were in Hollywood!"
Lee Yi Kyung had won the Male Excellence Award in a Mid-length Drama for 'Marry My Husband' at the '2024 Seoulcon A-Pan Star Awards' held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) Art Hall in Seoul on December 28th last year. Jung In Sun, his ex-girlfriend, won the Female Acting Award in the Short/Web Drama category for 'Opening - Grand Shining Hotel.' During his acceptance speech, Lee Yi Kyung surprised many by referencing his past relationship with Jung In Sun. The two had publicly confirmed their relationship in April 2018 but broke up two months later.
Reflecting on his comments, Lee Yi Kyung smiled awkwardly and shared, "(Jung In Sun) was in the same space. Since we dated a long time ago and it was a public relationship, I didn’t think much of it. But I received more calls about my acceptance speech than congratulations."
Shin Dong-yup responded with some advice: "Everyone has someone they meet before finding 'the one.' It's just part of learning who is a better fit for you. I don't see why anyone should criticize mentioning that."
Lee Yi Kyung also revealed, "I used to think I’d get married in my 20s, but now I’m nearing 40."
