It has been reported that actor Lee Seung Gi and his wife, Lee Da In, are living in a luxury villa located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul after signing a "Jeonse" agreement.
On January 6, E-Daily exclusively reported that, according to real estate industry sources, Lee Seung Gi signed a Jeonse lease for a 2nd floor 255㎡ (2,750 square feet) unit in Lanubo Hannam, a luxury villa in Hannam-dong, in August last year.
"Jeonse" is a unique housing lease system in South Korea where the tenants pay a large lump-sum deposit, which is often 50-90% of the property's market value, to the landlord for the right to live in the property. The landlord holds onto the deposit and may invest or use it. After the lease period ends, the landlord must return the full deposit back to the tenant.
Real estate registry records indicate that Lee Seung Gi secured a Jeonse worth 10.5 billion KRW (approximately 7.2 million USD) for the unit. The lease is set to expire in August 2026. The lease price marks the highest transaction in the real estate market for both last year and this year.
Lee Seung Gi married actress Lee Da In, the second daughter of actress Kyeon Mi Ri, in April 2023, and they have a daughter together. The couple initially set up their newlywed home in Lee Seung Gi's owned apartment in Samseong-dong, but with the recent news of the lease agreement, it appears they have since relocated to the Hannam-dong villa.
Lanubo Hannam is a luxury residence located in UN Village, spanning from two basement levels to four above-ground floors. The complex consists of only four units and was completed in 2022. It features a private, independent structure and offers services optimized for privacy, such as 24-hour security personnel. Due to these features, the villa is known to be popular among high-profile figures from the business and entertainment industries.
Notably, EXO's Baekhyun also moved into Lanubo Hannam in June 2023, which garnered significant attention.
