Actress Kim Sung Ryung recently opened up about her extraordinary journey of pursuing higher education at 38 during her appearance on the January 22 episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block.'
Reflecting on her decision to go back to school, Kim explained, "I felt like I didn’t have a solid foundation in my work and wasn’t even sure if I was acting well." This realization motivated her to enroll in a theater and film program to improve her craft from the basics.
Despite starting later than most, Kim excelled academically. "I worked extremely hard and earned straight A+s," she said proudly. Her dedication extended beyond academics as she actively participated in group projects and even shared homemade rice cakes with classmates to build connections, a story that amused the audience.
What made her journey even more remarkable was her perseverance during pregnancy. "I attended classes until I was heavily pregnant with my second child. I stayed up late finishing assignments, and my professors were often surprised to see me walk into class," she shared. Although it was challenging, Kim described the experience as a source of positive energy and personal growth.
Kim Sung Ryung’s story serves as a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to chase your dreams and invest in self-improvement, no matter the stage of life.
