Actress Go Hyun Jung has been discharged from the hospital after surgery but will not be returning to the set of her drama Namib for filming.
On the afternoon of the 6th, Go Hyun Jung shared the news of her discharge from the hospital via her personal social media account. Last December, she had experienced a decline in her health.
In relation to the Namib drama, in which Go Hyun Jung is starring, her representative confirmed that she will focus on recovery without returning to filming. A representative for Go Hyun Jung told Xports News on the 6th, “Namib has been completed smoothly without any additional filming by Go Hyun-jung.”
Previously, Go Hyun Jung was scheduled to attend the production presentation for Namib, a GENIE TV original drama, on the 16th of last month, but she unexpectedly missed the event due to health concerns. The specific details of her illness have not been disclosed. According to her team, Go Hyun Jung had to visit the emergency room that day and could not attend the event.
On the 6th, Go Hyun Jung posted several photos from her hospital room on her personal account, stating, “I was shocked by how sick I was, but after a major surgery, I’m feeling more awake now. I’ll be careful and take good care of myself.” In the photos, she appeared somewhat gaunt, which caused concern among her fans.
She also expressed gratitude and affection for her younger brother, who had been by her side as her caregiver: "I’m so happy to be discharged. Brother, I’m sorry for making you make important decisions alone whenever I was sick. Thank you and I love you."
Meanwhile, Namib, the GENIE TV original drama in which Go Hyun Jung stars, tells the story of a fired star producer, Kang Soo-hyun, and a long-time trainee, Yoo Jin-woo, who meet and pursue their respective goals.
