On January 6, a press screening for the film 'Collapse' was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Hyun Hae Ri, along with actors Ahn Woo Yeon, Min Sung Wook, Cha Jung Won, and So Hee Jung, who shared various stories about the film.
'Collapse' is a crime drama based on the real-life crypto currency crash Terra Luna that shook the world, causing a $50 billion loss. The film is also the final work of the late actor Song Jae Rim, who passed away in November 2024 at the age of 39. Song Jae Rim played the role of Yang Do Hyun, a self-proclaimed business genius and developer of a virtual currency called MOMMY.
Director Hyun Hae Ri became emotional and shed tears when asked about Song Jae Rim. After taking a moment to compose herself, she said, "I thought the character needed to have a face with an air of mystery. After auditions, I cast him, and he was incredibly knowledgeable about cryptocurrency. I remember how enjoyable our first conversation was. The moment I saw him, I thought, 'That's Yang Do Hyun.'"
She continued, "We had many conversations throughout the filmmaking process, and he gave a lot of great ideas. People often misunderstood him because of his serious demeanor, but he was such a warm-hearted and funny person. I miss him, and it’s truly heartbreaking. I really wish he could be here with us today."
Meanwhile, 'Collapse' is set to premiere on January 15.
