As of January 21, HYBE Chairman Bang Si Hyuk's luxury mansion in the affluent Bel-Air neighborhood of Los Angeles narrowly avoided damage from the devastating wildfires in California. The blaze, now being referred to as one of the most destructive in decades, led to widespread evacuations in the region.

Reports confirm that Bel-Air, home to Bang’s property, was among the areas issued evacuation orders due to the proximity of the flames. Fellow Bel-Air residents, including pop icons Beyoncé and Jay-Z, were also forced to flee the area. According to The Hollywood Reporter on January 13, “Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s family evacuated to Las Vegas during the fire.”

The wildfire, which erupted on January 7 along the western coastline of Los Angeles, rapidly spread inland due to the notorious 'devil winds,' a term used for localized, destructive gusts. The fast-moving fire resulted in evacuation orders for parts of Bel-Air and other nearby areas. Approximately 12,000 homes and buildings were reduced to ash, leaving hundreds of thousands of people displaced. The Associated Press noted that this fire was the most extensive urban blaze in California in 40 years.

The disaster affected numerous celebrities, with some losing their homes entirely. Notable figures such as former baseball star Park Chan Ho, whose Beverly Hills residence was destroyed, and actors Mel Gibson, Will Smith, Paris Hilton, and Mark Hamill were among those impacted.

Bang Si Hyuk’s Luxury Mansion in Bel-Air

Bang Si Hyuk made headlines last year for acquiring a $26.4 million mansion on Stradella Road in Bel-Air through his personal real estate corporation, BEL AIR STRADELLA, LLC. Purchased from comedian Trevor Noah, the three-story, 309-pyeong (approximately 10,900 square feet) property features six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a library, gym, infinity pool, sauna, rooftop terrace, and outdoor kitchen.

The mansion is part of Bang’s broader efforts to expand HYBE’s presence in the U.S. music industry. It also serves as a potential space for music production and networking, complementing the Los Angeles office of HYBE America, located in the same county.

While Bang’s mansion escaped unscathed, the devastating fire has left a significant mark on the Los Angeles area, affecting countless residents and altering the landscape of this iconic region.
