ADOR has issued a statement of response to the news that the members of NewJeans have announced a new temporary group name contest.
On January 23 KST, ADOR told media outlets, "ADOR maintains the position that the exclusive contract between ADOR and NewJeans remains valid. We are diligently following the legal procedures to verify this position. It can be considered a severe breach of contract for the members to carry out independent entertainment activities by asking for submissions of a new group name, and we find this very unfortunate."
Earlier on January 23 KST, the members of NewJeans announced a contest for a new temporary group name through their SNS, jeanzforfree. The group will be receiving submissions for the next 2 days.
