Actor Dong Ha, who previously paused his career due to allegations of school violence, is making a return to the screen. His comeback project, the film 'Cornell’s Box' (directed by Lee Hyun Ji), is set to be released on January 8. This marks his first film in four years, drawing attention as he plays the character Tae Yi in the movie.
Born in 1992, Dong Ha made his acting debut in 2009 through the KBS drama 'The Accidental Couple'. He gained wider recognition in 2016 with KBS 2TV's 'Good Manager', and later appeared in several popular series, including SBS’s 'Suspicious Partner', SBS’s 'Judge vs. Judge', and KBS 2TV’s 'Homemade Love Story'.
In 2021, Dong Ha faced accusations of school violence after posts on an online community surfaced. At the time, he strongly denied the allegations, stating, "This is not true. I plan to take legal action."
A year later, in September 2022, Dong Ha reaffirmed his stance, saying, “I can confidently state, both then and now, that I was not the perpetrator of the school violence mentioned. I have never inflicted physical or mental harm on any fellow student.” He also filed a defamation lawsuit against the original poster for spreading false information, but the investigation was closed when the post was deleted and the suspect could not be identified.
In July of last year, Dong Ha announced his exclusive contract with the new agency, Empathy Entertainment, revealing a new profile picture and signaling his return to the industry.
