Actress Yoo In Na reveals past experience of being involved in a romance scam.
On December 10th KST, a video titled ”[Love In Na] Haven’t We Met Before? This Month’s Leading Man Park Jung Min” was posted on the 'Yoo In Radio' YouTube channel. In the episode, actress Yoo In Na shared a shocking story about how her photos were once used in a romance scam.
Yoo recounted, “When I was in my early 20s working part-time at a café, a man approached me and said, ‘Hye Young, you’re Hye Young, right?’ I was terrified. He then took out his phone and showed me photos of myself.”
She explained that someone had stolen her photos from her social media profile and used them to create a fake persona. “This woman had taken all my photos and even created backstories for them. It didn’t stop there—she used them for a romance scam. She had borrowed money from this man, around 100,000 to 200,000 won(approximately 700 to 1400 USD), which was a significant amount at the time.”
Yoo shared that she proved her innocence by showing the man her own social media profile. “When the man threatened to report her, the woman contacted him and returned the money. That’s how it was resolved. It was such a surreal experience.”
Reflecting on the incident, Yoo said, “It wasn’t a good experience, but over time, it’s become one of those unique episodes in my life.”
Meanwhile, 'Yoo In Radio' is a YouTube series that combines Yoo In Na’s name with a radio format. Known for her warm communication style and candid storytelling, the show offers viewers a cozy and engaging experience, with new content released weekly.
