The winner of the second round of matches on SBS's boy group audition program 'Universe League' was announced on episode 5, aired on December 20 KST.
On this day, the starting lineup of 'Team Beat', led by GOT7's Yugyeom and EL CAPITXN, faced off against the bench lineup of 'Team Groove', led by BTOB's Changsub. The two teams fought over 'Team Beat's original song, "Mamma Mia". The matchup also garnered attention for the rivalry between former TO1 members Cha Woong Gi and Jang Kyung Ho, two contestants who had so far avoided direct confrontation on the show.

While the starting lineup of 'Team Beat' showcased a refreshing and energetic performance of "MAMMA MIA" last week, the bench lineup of 'Team Groove' set out to make the song their own with a totally different interpretation. In the end, the bench lineup of 'Team Groove' was declared the winners, successfully stealing 'Team Beat's original song, "Mamma Mia".
Facing defeat once again after 'Team Beat's loss last week, Cha Woong Gi burst into tears on stage. The members of both 'Team Beat' and 'Team Groove' gathered around him to console him, including Jang Kyung Ho, who said, "You worked really hard." The two former group mates then embraced, acknowledging each other's efforts.
Next, the final matchup pitted the starting lineup of 'Team Groove' against the bench lineup of 'Team Rhythm' (led by WayV's TEN and Yangyang), competing over ownership of the song "Prison". Both teams showcased high quality performances, but it was 'Team Groove' who once again claimed victory.
After all three matches, MC Jay Park announced the overall rankings of the three teams, determined by combining the votes cast by the live audience and online votes from global viewers. In the end, 'Team Groove' took 1st place with a total of 885 points, while 'Team Rhythm' ended up in 2nd place with 860 points total. 'Team Beat', who came in 3rd place with 643 total points, received 6 yellow cards, resulting in the elimination of 5 contestants.
Finally, after obtaining 2 trade cards as the winner of round 2, BTOB's Changsub recruited Sirin and Park Joo Won of 'Team Rhythm' to his team. TEN and Yangyang of 'Team Rhythm', on the other hand, used their 1 trade card to recruit Kim Dong Yoon of 'Team Beat'.
Next week on 'Universe League', the teams will begin round 3, with the coaches of each team hand-selecting the members who will compete on stage.
Meanwhile, the second round mission songs "Ignition", "Mamma Mia", and "Prison" will be released on various streaming platforms on December 21 at 6 PM KST.
