Actor Park Bo-young shared a heartfelt message with fans through a fan communication platform on the 31st, expressing her condolences for the Jeju Air plane disaster.
"I was a little late in reaching out," she wrote. "I’ve been busy, but after hearing about the aircraft accident, I felt too sick and heavy-hearted to casually ask how everyone was doing or share my daily life."
"Whenever I watch the news, it seems to be filled with heartbreaking stories," she continued, adding, "The year 2024 has been so sad and difficult that it feels like it will be remembered as an even colder winter. It's a tough end of the year in many ways, but let's spend each day doing what we can, mourning in our own ways."
Finally, Park Bo-young concluded by greeting her fans warmly, saying, "I think I’ve shared too many heavy thoughts," and added, "A new year begins tomorrow. Happy New Year, and let’s get along well in 2025."
Meanwhile, according to fire authorities, Jeju Air flight 7C2216, traveling from Bangkok, Thailand, crashed while attempting to land at Muan International Airport in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, at 9:03 a.m. on the 29th.
The plane collided with a wall outside the airport and exploded. The National Fire Agency reported that all 179 passengers were killed, except for two crew members who were rescued.
